The Effect of Authentic Leadership of Deans and Directors on Sustainable Organizational Commitment at Universities: Mediated by Organizational Culture and Trust

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between deans and directors of Korean universities on organizational commitment university professors, mediating effects culture trust. A survey was conducted with full-time professors at 20 universities; 387 responses were analyzed. Structural equation modeling performed using a two-step approach achieve research purpose, tested phantom variables. The analysis revealed that authentic leadership significantly positively affected trust, culture, commitment, trust being more important mediator than culture. is significant in most previous studies have focused president, top-level policymaker, used measurement tools designed for business organizations. Conversely, this directors, middle managers universities, adapted existing diagnostic Korea horizontal structures based academic experience. In Korea, there currently an emphasis reform, evaluation, financial support. Thus, importance as key administrative workforce enablers creating healthy spotlight results suggest urgent necessity investment training these positions.
